3 Tips to Prepare Your Business for Winter
Germ Season – Colds and ‘flu are much more prevalent in the colder months, with everyone being tucked up in close proximity to each other and the heating generally being turned up a few notches! Tips for keeping the spread of germs to a minimum is to keep the office clean, (aZtec can take care of that for you!) provide plenty of hand sanitiser and finally, try not to have the heating up too high! Germs and bacteria thrive in warm conditions, so tempting as it may be, don’t have the heating up full!
Heating System Check – It’s a good idea to get in a qualified engineer to check out your heating system before Winter really kicks in, and perhaps give it a service. Having not been used over the summer months, it may be in need of a little TLC! Waiting until it breaks down will not only be more expensive to fix, you may lose valuable work hours if it’s too cold for staff to come in to work. It’s also worth making sure all pipes are lagged to prevent them freezing and bursting and perhaps keeping the heating on very low overnight.
Prepare for Ice/Snow – When the temperature really start to fall, ice and snow can present a health and safety issue for staff and visitors. Not only will any car parking facilities need to be made safe, entrance ways and floors can also be a slip hazard. Make sure you order in any salt/grit well in advance, best to be prepared!
