Happy Hours @ Birchwood

December 15, 2021

Birchwood Trust have been providing food parcels for families for nineteen months, and since September 2021 have distributed 290 food parcels helping over 30 families. In total they have given out over 2,000 food, cleaning products and toiletry packages.

£2,000 worth of food and sundries have been donated and £5646.00 of money has been raised through fundraisers, like us we decided this year to get involved, we had large haul of food and toiletry products from the team, with a huge thanks going to Brenda Yon for doing such a great job of organising this.

“Unfortunately, the need seems to be growing, with many families approaching us for help. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. We have a fantastic network of organisations that help support the work we are doing. We rely heavily on donations and organisations such as aZtec, help from businesses are invaluable in enabling us to continue to support the families.”

It is important to recognise that people who live in poverty usual suffer with mental health problems, low self-esteem, and lack of confidence, some, not all also have low educational qualifications. Starting January 2022, Birchwood Trust are teaming up with Steps to Skills, offering free courses for families to access.

We believe in supporting local charities and try do our upmost to get involved when we can.
